Silverback Bullion was looking for a design and technology partner that would be able to deliver on its vision of creating a full-service retailer of precious metals. There are many players in this space, but few quality Canadian-based, and this project needed to stand above the rest as a leader both in terms of esthetics as well as user experience.
Having worked on many e-commerce websites, DMG drew on its experience to create a customized solution to meet all the specific requests of this project. One of the main challenges with this project, when compared to almost all other e-commerce sites, is that the price for most of the items was not fixed, but changed with the price of Gold, Silver, and Platinum. This price fluctuation is further complicated because the site is catering to multiple currencies, which also fluctuate.
Starting with the tried-and-true foundation of the Zencart platform, this site was heavily customized in order to meet all of the unique requests of this complex project. From the fluctuating price of products, to the currency switching, every feature of the site was carefully developed and extensively tested to ensure a rock-solid final product.
